In an economy still struggling to climb out of a recession, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is reporting the total number of passenger traffic for November 2009 was 678,919 - up 1% over the same time period in 2008.

Southwest Airlines is flying the most number of people in and out of Austin, with a sky high 9.5% increase in 2009 over the same period in 2008. The Luv airline totaled 258,533 passengers. That's more than any other airline that lands at ABIA.

Other airliners weren't so lucky. American Airlines reported a 7% decrease in passengers from 2009 when compared to the previous year. Continental plummeted 8%. Even though Delta Airlines (including SkyWest) passenger numbers came nowhere near those of Southwest, ABIA officials report its traffic to be up 37% with 66,275 passengers.
