Luis Edwardo Zuniga was booked on charges of Intoxication Assault with Serious Bodily Injury after colliding with an on-duty police officer at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Zuniga reportedly crossed into oncoming traffic on Dessau Road north of Rundberg Lane in north Austin, hitting the officer's car head-on.
The officer is not being identified, because he works undercover. Both the officer and Zuniga were taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with non-life threatening injuries.
