The company was awarded a permit in October that was good for one year, before the neighborhood association filed an appeal based on noise concerns. The association's representative, Daniel Llanes, and other supporters of the appeal said they would be open to occasional events hosted by Sustainable Waves, using temporary permits.
Sustainable Waves has hosted several events around Austin using solar-powered sound, light and production equipment, including Spoon's performance last month in the Waterloo Records parking lot.
